From working with Rob Lowe and FOX to raising three children in an AI-powered world, Global Objects CEO Jess Loren shares a remarkable perspective on the future of storytelling.

Perhaps one of the most touching moments came when Jess recalled our original SIGGRAPH Women at the Forefront panel.
Two women on the panel had worked with one of Global Objects’ scanned assets, and one shared how that experience helped introduce her to AI.
Jess admitted it gave her goosebumps.
It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes the work we do quietly behind the scenes can inspire someone else’s entire creative journey.
And that’s what makes this conversation so special.
Beyond the Hollywood stories, amazing technology, and exciting possibilities, you’ll meet a thoughtful, funny, optimistic woman who genuinely cares about the world we’re building for the next generation.
What does it take to become a woman leading innovation in Hollywood? For Jess Loren, it started with selling Girl Scout cookies.
Born in Chicago, Jess always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Today, as CEO of Global Objects, she’s helping lead an extraordinary mission: digitizing the physical world, from Hollywood’s iconic props and film sets to entire environments that may one day help teach AI and robots how our world actually works.
But behind the technology is something far more personal.
Jess is raising three young children in a world where AI can create almost anything imaginable.
And that raises a question close to her heart: How will our children know what’s real?
While AI companies race to generate synthetic worlds, Jess is passionate about preserving the truth of our physical one. Through Global Objects, she’s building verified digital collections of real objects and environments, with plans to track their origins for future generations.
It’s a fascinating perspective from a mother, entrepreneur, and Hollywood CEO who believes the future of AI should be grounded in reality.
One of my favorite moments was hearing Jess share a remarkable story from a FOX production starring Rob Lowe.
Rob couldn’t travel to a required location in Connecticut, so Jess’s team brought the location to him!
They scanned an entire seaport, recreated it for virtual production, and used Gaussian splats to bring the scene to life.
The result? Twelve camera setups in a single day, and the production wrapped three hours early!
Even Rob was surprised they were finished.
It’s an incredible peek behind the curtain at how forward-thinking women like Jess are helping transform Hollywood production.
Then our conversation took a wonderfully unexpected turn.
Jess introduced us to Sophie, her AI chief of staff. She’s given her assistant a name, a personality, and a place in her daily life.
But what happens when Sophie gets a human face?
Would you trust a synthetic doctor? Would you let an AI teacher educate your children? And when does a digital relationship begin to feel real?
These aren’t just technical questions anymore. They’re deeply human ones, and Jess isn’t afraid to explore them.
