🌸 About Yuri
A self-taught Houdini artist and AI explorer, Yuri graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and carved her own path into the VFX world. While mastering Solaris/USD workflows for CG and video production, her fascination with AI technologies quickly evolved into a deep creative practice. Today, she’s at the forefront of generative AI and machine learning in video art — merging the precision of VFX with the unpredictability of AI.

🎥 Projects We Love
Among her recent projects, Yuri is especially proud of a captivating AI experiment where she brought figures from history and classic paintings to life. By blending AI-generated video, LoRA-trained models, and digital post-production, she’s breathing new life into subjects that no longer exist, reimagining them for modern audiences.

🛠️ Tools of the Trade
Her creative toolkit includes:
- Houdini
- Stable Diffusion
- Photoshop
- Runway
- Leonard AI
- ComfyUI (her primary platform)
From image-to-video (I2V) generation to anime-style visuals and face-swapping projects, Yuri’s workflow is all about experimentation, control, and storytelling.

☁️ Deep Dive: Cloud Atlas Virtual Studio Experience
Yuri recently integrated CenterGrid’s Virtual Studio into her workflow for a series of intensive AI video projects — and it fundamentally changed her creative process. Using high-powered RTX A6000 cloud workstations with 48GB VRAM, Yuri was able to run complex, memory-intensive setups that weren’t possible in her local environment.
“In the past, I’d have to reduce ControlNet use or downscale models just to avoid crashes. With Virtual Studio, I could run multiple LoRA models and ControlNets simultaneously — even during demanding training sessions for HunyuanVideo.”
What made this connection possible was Cloud Atlas, our trusted Virtual Studio AI cloud partner in Japan. Cloud Atlas provides CenterGrid low-latency cloud workstations with AI acceleration for Japanese VFX artists, animators, compositors, CGI creators, and AI video innovators. It was at SIGGRAPH Asia in December 2024 where Ichiro Tanaka, President of Cloud Atlas, personally introduced Yuri to the Virtual Studio platform — a meeting that set the stage for this exciting new chapter in her creative journey.
Yuri’s favorite part of the experience? The rock-solid reliability. No crashes, no interrupted renders, and no compromises on creative ambition.
“It wasn’t just a powerful rendering setup, it became a stable training environment. I finally felt free to push the limits of what I could create.”
While she noted that generation speed could be optimized for artists with fast-turnaround demands, the time saved from eliminating failed renders and constant troubleshooting more than made up for it in overall workflow efficiency.
💖 What Drives Yuri
Yuri loves turning her ideas into reality — and the magic moment when someone connects emotionally with her work.
“It’s those moments of understanding and shared emotion that fuel my creativity. There are endless challenges in this field, and that’s what makes it exciting.”
✨ A Message to Fellow Artists
