“You are enough. Forget the feeds, forget the fear, forget the haters — just go for it.“
Graham “Thomas Patrick” Robinson is more than just an artist; he’s a modern-day alchemist, blending fine art, sound, code, and emotion into transformative virtual experiences. Based in Belfast, Ireland, he has spent over a decade mastering storytelling across film, TV, events, and interactive media, creating moments that resonate deeply with audiences. His work, whether remixing visuals live in clubs or building immersive VR experiences, is driven by a singular goal: to connect.
Graham’s process is unique, as it merges spiritual connection with technical skill. Before diving into any project, he centers himself with meditation to ensure that his work comes from a place of intention and love. But that’s just the beginning. From there, he sketches and builds worlds in Unreal Engine, constantly iterating and refining until the emotional impact is just right.
However, to truly bring his vision to life, Graham needs more than just traditional tools. He requires a cloud-based setup that allows him to maintain creative momentum without waiting for renders to finish.
“When you’re creating something emotional, you need momentum. Waiting hours for a render kills that. Virtual Studio let me keep building — while it did the heavy lifting in the background.”
Whether he’s bringing his ideas to life through hand sketches or building out complex 3D environments, Graham relies on tools that match his pace — creatively and technically. That’s where Virtual Studio comes in, helping him keep his flow uninterrupted, so he can keep pushing the boundaries of both art and technology.
Ascend, Graham’s most ambitious project to date, is more than just a VR experience — it’s a digital pilgrimage, a guided emotional space crafted with intention, music, and light. Inspired by spiritual practices and dream logic, it invites viewers into a deeply personal and healing world.
Graham’s workflow combines analog methods — like sketching and writing by hand — with digital worldbuilding using Photoshop, Unreal Engine, and Virtual Studio.
“One of the hardest parts of immersive creation is balancing ideation and execution,” he says. “Virtual Studio gave me time back — letting me create while it rendered, which kept me in a better rhythm.”
With collaborators like composer Robert Logan, and support from the Digital Arts Studio Belfast and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Graham ensures every piece of the experience is thoughtfully crafted. But even the best team needs technical infrastructure they can count on.
Graham’s process is both intentional and intuitive. It begins in silence — meditation and reflection guide his creative path. From there, he sketches, writes, and storyboards, channeling raw emotion onto paper. Those sketches are digitized, refined in Photoshop, and used as blueprints to begin worldbuilding in Unreal Engine.
As the visual space evolves, he runs tests in VR headsets, inviting audience feedback at each stage. With each iteration, he layers in voice performances, sound design, and a fully composed score — refining the work until it becomes an emotionally resonant journey.
From his first sketch to final render, Virtual Studio isn’t just a utility — it’s a creative partner. For a solo artist like Graham, managing panoramic rendering, project scaling, and cross-platform testing can be overwhelming. Virtual Studio removes those barriers.
“What made Virtual Studio stand out wasn’t just the setup — it was the personal connection,” he shares. “The team cared about what I was making. It wasn’t just about power, it was about purpose.”
With no need to manually install Unreal or configure remote access, Graham could focus on the story — not the setup.
“Yes, for sure I’ll use it again,” he says. “It helped me keep making.”
Graham’s creative fuel comes from watching his work resonate with people — seeing audiences feel something real. “From my days mixing visuals in clubs, I’ve always loved testing content and working with impact as a key marker of success.”
And when asked what advice he’d share with fellow creatives, Graham doesn’t hesitate:
“You are enough. Forget the feeds, forget the fear, forget the haters — just go for it. If you get stuck, look up the Palace of Imagination in France, created by a single postman. :D”
